fish tacos (part deux)

matt loves fish tacos and we've been trying to get the right for some time. this time i looked up a recipe from rubio's in cali. i used palauch fish and a "fish fry" batter instead of the beer batter. the yogurt sauce made the whole thing i think. plus green cabbage and salsa. they were delicious! and here is a shark's jaw bone piece of cabbage. watch out!

fish tacos

so... fish tacos are awesomely awesome. i have made them with tilapia, but this time matt got shark on sale at k-roger so i used shark. i grilled them with a lot of seasoning and a little oil. i have such a dang hard time flipping the fish, it makes me crazy. i got taco shells and some peach mango salsa. the salsa was great "because people like to say 'salsa!'"

i love you seared tuna

aah aahh aaaahhh... aah aahh aaaahhh... seeeeaard tuuna (that first part was from the little mermaid). man, oh man that was so good. all i did was warm up a pan and put some pepper and salt and olive oil in there. wholly geez. (this particular tuna was left over from sushi prep so you know its good and fresh! - we never got to the tuna ... only did the salmon (wish i had pictures!)).
and here is the slushee a la matty pants:

tuna

if somebody finishes making lemon slushes in the kitchen ... i will make seared tuna and it will be great. pictures to come

chicken

i need to be chickenly inspired. i made mesquite lime chicken tonight. it was good and tender but not great. i think it would have been better if i had gotten skin-on but someone doesn't like the skin-on chicken. crispy...mmmmmm. anywhozzle, we had asparagus with it which i steamed in a foil envelope with oil and vinegar and spices. i love asparagusssesss a bunch. chicken and mushrooms tomorrow. i think i'll "bread" it with crispy onions and nuts and parm cheese and spices. i don't know if mushrooms count as a side dish... if i make a creamy sauce for them i think that will do very well indeed. i made trout last night and it was superb. i feel like i'm bragging here but it was so very easy to do. on the side, we had broccoli with lemon butter. i don't think i've ever had trout before, but i will continue to eat it in the future (were trying to do more fish, yay!). i wonder if i should do recipes on this?
