lemony chicken with lemony spaghetti with spinach

sauted some chicken tenders (i've been trying to buy free range- which is usually organic and usually expensive... but makes me not as sad for the poor chickens). first marinate in lemon juice with salt and ground pepper. dumped them on the plate and then put the cooked pasta in the same pan with more lemon juice, butter and more pepper. finish with parmesan cheese. served with spinach. and just so you aren't suprised, it might look like a lot of spinach but when cooked it disappears.

sausage and peppah sammich

spicy sausage, marinara, red and yellow peppers (not a fan of green peppers- bleck) and more spiciness

ps my mother wanted me to let you all know that i am not now and never have been a drug dealer. i am, however, a fan of "the wire" which features drug dealers and that is what i was referencing. athankyou

steak soup

ok for steak soup you need a top round beef roast- i've tried others but this has had the best result. and you need a crock pot. other than that you can improvise- well, you need cream too. i always make a bed of veg for the meat to sit on- onion usually or this time an orange pepper. then i chuck in a lot of spices- garlic, onion, mustard, red pepper, ground pepper, steak seasoning... um and whatever else. then some worsteshire sauce, broth (used chicken broth this time), and i put in some red wine- sometimes i use balsmaic vinegar. all of that is set on high for four hours or low all day. then take it out to the cutting board and i chop up the entire thing into bite sized pieces and chuck it back in the pot. add some cream until it's creamy. you can thicken it with flour or cornstarch and let it hangout in the pot for a little while longer. you can add other veggies... matt likes potatoes which are always good. (well, apparently matt likes mushrooms more than potatoes, fyi) and then of course you eat it: matt likes this soup and told his sister robyn about it, so this was for her (hi robyn!).

coconut curry soup

ginger... i love ginger. here's all the aromatics in the pot with olive oil. onion, ginger, pepper, red pepper and red curry paste. then you just saute until mushy- i like to leave things big because i don't appreciate little bits of things- i want smoooothness. then the simmering.... simmering... simmering.... the goods- i really like these lables then you add the coconut milk and lime... then you add the thawed scallops then if you would like add some noodles

popped pudding

lemon pudding and popped corn on the stove. i think this is the next pbj. i forgot how much i love popped corn on the stove. we've been watching the wire on the recommendation of my brother jim jam. i've been taken in pretty much, but season 3 kinda was a little forced, sadly. my favorite character is omar. he's the reason i kept watching when the cheese started spewing out. i wish i was a drug dealer sometimes because they just have too much "money, money, money. must be funny... in a rich man's world."

raw

we went to the grocery today. and got a lot o' groceries. trying to eat at home for all three meals every single day.
i did not find any raw cashews and i am sad about that. i have a love affair with cashews. the roasted canned ones are the worst. they taste nothing like even roasted fresh let alone raw. why can't i find them? i love them so.

the germans

we went to a german restaurant last night. not so much. i have made much better spatzle slash jager schniztle (doesn't it seem like i made all those words up?). let's just say our waitress was very not german, maybe that should have told me something. that's not to say that non-germans can't cook german food well... but it was something of an omen. just ick can i also just say that last post about the tuna makes me come back and look at it? i mean just look at it i think that's the best picture i've (nay any one's) ever taken, ever. and it was so delicious... ness... ly! see that's a word.

i love you seared tuna

aah aahh aaaahhh... aah aahh aaaahhh... seeeeaard tuuna (that first part was from the little mermaid). man, oh man that was so good. all i did was warm up a pan and put some pepper and salt and olive oil in there. wholly geez. (this particular tuna was left over from sushi prep so you know its good and fresh! - we never got to the tuna ... only did the salmon (wish i had pictures!)).
and here is the slushee a la matty pants:

tuna

if somebody finishes making lemon slushes in the kitchen ... i will make seared tuna and it will be great. pictures to come
